Nice to meet you

My name is Cindy Wiltgen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 15 years of experience. I became a therapist to help people in some way, whether to offer support through the process of improving mental health, addressing relationship difficulties, or adjusting to challenging life changes.

I believe in using a client centered approach and working collaboratively with my clients in reaching their goals for change.   I provide care to kids (10+), adolescents, adults, and families.

I obtained my masters degree in social work from the College of St. Catherine and the University of St. Thomas in 2008. I received my Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification from the University of Minnesota in 2012 and since this time have focused on the connection between addiction and mental health.

My special interests include eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and addictions.

Therapeutic modalities

While working with individuals and families, I might integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Enhanced (CBT-E), Family Based Therapy (FBT), RO-DBT, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and mindfulness techniques.  I am also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and work with clients who have experienced trauma in their background.
